One Day Like This A Year Would See Me Right

Taken from Elbows song......

I know the year is no where near over but it doesn't really matter whether it was this year, last year, years ago, whatever. What one biking day that you've had, has really had a big impression on you.

For me it was this June on a run to Oban. It was a beautiful sunny warm day. Great roads, scenery and company.

In Oban:

We got a bit lost on the way back and ended up on the wrong side of Loch Fyne so got the Tarbert ferry

It was just one of those brilliant biking days. We covered 280 miles in about 10 hours. I was knackered at the end of the day, but it was a satisfied sort of tired after a great day riding :D

So what's your "One Day Like This A Year Would See Me Right" day ? :p:p

Most recent one for me would be last Friday, riding the route that Tiger very kindly suggested from Glencoe to Mallaig where I got the ferry to Skye, then back to the mainland via the bridge and back to Fort William on the A87. I also did the loop round the B863 round Loch Leven as I was on the way back down the A82 to Glencoe.

Absolutely epic day out! :D

Mine has to be the morning I went out at 3am on my Birthday (a Sunday) and rode the roads around Northants for 4 hours, I rode to a few new spots, watched the sun come up on one, then carried on my way, that feeling of emptiness on the roads is a buzz, it made me want to progress on this own little personal racetrack of mine, flowing around bends nothing in my way, free as a bird.

And then at 6.30am on this Sunday morning, I saw my first car that I had to overtake, I called it a day and pootled home.

I stopped many times, took no photos, this was my personal getaway.

I thought you were up in 'ull? Plenty good roads within striking distance.

Aye, need to get out and find them though

The road from Stirling, through Tyndrum, Glencoe, Scotsburgring, Oban and home again (well, what used to be home anyway) is one of my favourites, not done it in over a year now and, well... I miss it
