Where do some people get their licences from?

Out for a little bimble this morning.

I was approaching a T junction intending to turn right. As I slowed over to the right in my lane, a woman turned into the road I was on from my left. But cut it so much that she passed me on my inside sounding her horn for me to get out of her way.

The guy behind her also turning into the road I was on did it properly and shrugged his shoulders, shook his head at the manoeuvre he had just witnessed.

Why is there never a copper around when you are subjected to such numptieness?

So she turned right into your turning to your left - ie on the wrong side of the road??? Pity you didn't get her reg. number - that's gotta be dangerous driving :smt103

Worse was her blasting me with her horn. I was in her way for cutting the corner.

she was simply going to fast to make the turn correctly i.e pass in front of me then turn into the road passing to my right. She therefore chose to badly cut the corner. In some ways I was lucky, she passed to my left and got to her side of the road behind me. If I was a second or two later, she would have hit me head on.

But it was arrogance that galled me. It was as if I should not have been there. It was her junction, and she would turn how she wanted.

That sort of idiotness should be punishable by death!
At least it wasn't worse.

probably a driving instructor.. had a nice conversation with one who claimed that they tell students to hold the biting point as soon as they stop with the handbrake on.. I did ask about damage to the clutch but apparently its what they are told to teach  . A bit of a moron, especially as it went along " you and I both know ..."

apparently in some european countries they are taught not to use the handbrake during hill starts. Which kind of explains why none of them can actually do hill starts...

i was taught this as well i had no trouble doing it in his car but when i drove the vans for work it was in neutral at lights or when stopped because my bosses claim it did less damage to clutch so the van wouldn't need servicing as much, i think both my instructor and old boss were morons :P

lucky for not being a few second later, i have had increase braking pressure to stop in time of people cutting corners like that, but i turned round and chanced them and asked why they was driving so bad while the police was being called and they was done for dangerous driving and driving with due care and attention the car behind me followed me chasing them so there was enough witnesses and the guy said i never knew my brakes were so good. filled me with confidence of the drivers round the midlands.

wow! result!

I've had this done to me many times! People just think they can cut the corner right off!

Timwilky's episode is worse than anything I've ever experienced though - although nothing surprises me on the roads these days! :(
