WHat tyre pressures?
Ok guys and girls, well on Peaks weekend i gained a puncture to my back tyre, which DaveNumbers did a marvellous piece of buisness in helping me get it fixed.
The guy at the garage Dave uses putt 40 psi in my back tyre, feels really on the edge especially on any little white lines etc... or roads bumps... But on the mountain feels amazing. However the front is running at 30.5psi still, what should i change it too to counter with the smooth handling of the back, as i can chuck the bike in real well now but the front end gets sloppy/shakes if i throw it too hard, i assume it's to do with the difference in pressures. I'm running Dunlop Roadsmart i think.... cheers Matt. Pointy k6 Sport. |

Re: WHat tyre pressures.
I use 32/34 front/rear -which seems to work well for me. 40 seems a bit high?

Re: WHat tyre pressures.
Put it all back to standard pressures, 33 Front and 36 rear and then ride it and tweak it from there...
Theres no hard and fast rules to pressures, its really down personal preference and riding style etc etc. I doubt anybody will be able to give you a specific answer to your question TBH... |

I'd be very cautious with this if I were you, go up in incriments in 1 or 2 psi steps, ride the bike and then evaluate the changes. Dont go making big pressure changes without understand what is going on with the handling. Personally I'm inclined to think that 40 psi in the back is a tad to much... |
