3 Sisters Test day

Did my 1st test day at Wigan after my off there in July & I wasn't a happy bunny. The 1st session out I was so slow it was unreal i came back in with a frown on instead of a smile. As usual the little FZR ran like clockwork, it is an amazing little bike.
I did start to pick up the pace as the day went on, but then had a really strange moment at Luna corner. The back end let go completely as if something had broken. I picked the bike up with my knee & tootled back into the pits with my a hole twitching like a rabbits nose. I had about another hour and a half track time, but said I wasnt going out again. The urge got too much & I had to fight my fear. I did get steadily faster, but to be honest, my mind wasn't in it. So all in all, I have conquered 3 Sisters without being in an Ambulance, just need to pick my speed up & get my mind focussed.

My son overtaking me just after I filled my leathers with a funny smell & a squishy feeling around my rear lol

Tbh Tim, I didn't enjoy it at all. Just wait for the next track days which will be in the winter. This gives me time to sort the bike out as well as myself :)

Was this a normal track day which anyone which could attend?

If so do you know when the next one is and roughly how much it costs

Test days are for ACU licence holders only. It's just basically to get ready for the racing on the day following.
I used it because it's only £25 for 2 hours track time to see how I felt & get a feel for the bike. Lot cheaper than track days at this time of year. :)

Col you did it thats the main thing.. not many would get on a bike again after your spill on the road and then the one on the track and neither of them really your fault.

dont put yourself down mate.. you are a great guy with balls of steel.. so have a beer and be proud of your success

oh and I think you wil find your son is undertaking you .. as you do a nice side slide.. that's what the pro's do mate.. ..

cheers

Dave n Mandy
