aaarrggghh! - Spooky.

Do ghosts really exist?

Went round to mum's earlier to do some tidying up - she died in June.

Was in the bedroom, by the door, when both bedside lamps fell off their respective bedside cabinets either side of the double bed - check jockies time big-style.

Being a typical bloke i don't do spooky, and once my heart had slowed to 3000 beat per min i started looking for the obvious. Was it because we'd moved some furniture recently? Was one of the floor boards sprung and just needed someone to walk into the room?

Nothing at all obvious. No creaking floorboards. No rucked carpet etc etc.

I don't do spook, and I say there is a totally logical reason but........

Is there such a thing as ghosts? - (currently cuddled up to a very large whisky).

I`d say that yes... I do feel there`s something out there and that life doesn`t necessarily end with death.

I`ve never seen a "ghost" myself but I`ve witnessed countless "incidents" that has definitely caused me to feel that there has to be more after death.

I have an open mind on the subject. But I would like to think that they do exist and there is an afterlife. That way I'll get a chance to see some loved ones and friends again.

I had a really odd experience at work a few weeks ago. Our offices are based in a Victorian mansion so the place is pretty big and old. Anyway we were working a late night and i went up to the printer room to get some A1 plans. There is a balcony that runs to the printer wall above the library. Place was deserted and lights were off but it is easy enough to feel your way along balcony for 10m and then you are in the printer room were you can hit the lighs. Got the plans i needed and hit the light switch off. Half way across the balcony i felt something cold and i mean real cold past right through me. I froze on the spot and had the most odd feeling something was right behind me. Shivers ran down my spine and my hair was standing on end as i quickly made my way in the dark to the door out of there and into the hall.
Never in all my life have i felt anything like that. I am convinced it was something not off this world but it has not happened again though i have done the same thing late at night twice since. Basically it facinates me and i am curious to learn more about what i experienced. Not really worried that what ever it was can cause any harm has we have rented the mansion for past 25 years and noone has come to any harm. Go figure that one out.....

Has something similar about 30 yrs ago. i was looking at a stainless steel control panel at work. Nice and shiney. It went black as though the reflection of whatever was in front of it was.....whatever. Then the total ice cold thing, hairs on the back of the neck etc. Never happened before or since.

As my dad used to say, "it's the live ones you've got to worry about."

Why do people who claim to see ghosts do so almost invariably in the circumstances ghosts stereotypically tend to appear, being alone, old houses, recently deceased relatives, cold feelings, hairs standing on end etc etc??? Why do people never see ghosts in broad daylight while with a bunch of friends?
