Re: Any *nix guys looking for a job
I don't know what the money is. I have simply cut/paste a round robin that was mailed to all the IT dept. Personal experience is that they pay what they can get away with. But as you progress the ladder salary is OK. but never good.
Whilst it is UK based. There is scope for some international travel and a career structure. The UK server farm is about 200 boxes distributed at about 5 principle UK sites. scope to get involved with large SANs, VMWare etc. We are a huge organisation nobody has ever heard of. OK Rugby is the middle of nowhere. But it is where our UK headquarters is. I wouldn't worry about a degree. Most of the current incumbents are there on experience rather than qualification |

Don't knock Rugby! It's erm... great ;)

Re: Any *nix guys looking for a job
I've forwarded to a mate who may be intersted....tho he may not. He used to be on contractor rates in London (£400 a day) but he decided to take the summer off and may now want a permie role...
