Nice to see the Police resolving the situation diplomatically :smt023 hopefully both parties learned a lesson from it

i belive both, first boy in car probably made it harder to overtake somewhere then bikers started giving abuse the copper caught the rest on tape simples
what i would say is the driver should have got more stick for the simple fact that someone calling you a wan*er wont kill you, someone being pushed off the road could (and yes it happened to me and im still not a happy teddybear)

Were you ever a teddy bear DP? :D

I remember the video was on one of those police road war / chase / action programs and I thought at the time that the copper should have dealt with the car driver due to his more dangerous conduct.

What evidence was there to support the car driver, apart from a biased passenger?

Probably saved a lot of Court time, and Police time, and hopefully whoever will behave in future.

fat chance , cos he knows the odds of him getting caught again are miniscule, and for all intents and purposes that copper has just said if this happens again just say that again and again you'll get away with it.
. if the police took a zero tolerance postion on car drivers trying to hit bikers (which they dont btw) they may find a,the right message being sent out b,some more bikers on there side.
now i know we on the org, have more than likely the entire quota for decent coppers for the entire of uk police forces on this site.
but even you's have to admit the policing of such incidents are shall we say a genral a fob off in comparison to the level of possible harm

p.s lp yes i was and still am ask mrs giggles, im a 6"8 beer drinking steak eating slightly intimadating cuddley teadybear :)

Yeah, I agree. Car probably was unaware of the bikes or blocked an overtake somewhere and the bikers got pi$$y. Still, no excuse for the drivers manner. As said, a few hand signals are rude and annoying, but the drivers actions were dangerous, enough said.

After watching that though, I came across this....anyone fancy a dodge viper? If I could have one, I'd go for the classic, but this this moves!

+1.

I think it was also discussed on here shortly after the programme aired.

I didn't spot it on the YouTube video, but IIRC, there was an error part way through the filming, but that's just linked to the fact it's not calibrated properly. But when you're not using it to argue about the speed of a vehicle, it doesn't really matter.

I think the copper did the right thing personally. The bikers probably won't think much of it (other than "shucks, there's a police 'busa around here! :("), but the car driver will of seen bikes & thought "is that a cop on a bike?" for a long while.

Yeah, the car driver acted dangerously, but I expect fair treatment by the police, and scaring the bejebus out of him whenever he sees a bike for a while is pretty fair (trying to push a cop off a bike is a more serious charge than just dangerous driving!).

What got the most attention about that video when it was shown on TV was the fact that the Police Man had a Black Rat sticker on the back of his lid . I remember Fast Bikes giving those stickers away when they first started .

Tut tut, no lid? Hardly setting a good example, are we officer? ;)

It's odd, the drivers' body language suggests he was making up his side of the story, but the passenger looked to be telling the truth. So I can understand the policeman's course of action.
