Paddock stand

Hi Guys,
After years of track days and some racing I have purchased my first SV from SDC and booked on to Silverstone next month.
My problem is I am trying to find a decent paddock stand for the front because the forks are diferent lengths.
Any good sturdy makes out there ?

I would suggest you buy the type that mount under the headstock.

That way your forks are unloaded, you can easily fit/remove tyre warmers etc.

Both the forks on my SV are the same length, yours must be a very rare set-up...:D

Registering my interest in the length of your forks!

Any old front paddock stand should be ok. Apparently the ones with pins are less kind to the base of the forks.

No Rascal you are right. The forks are very slightly different lengths.

The Right hand lower is very slightly longer than the Left hand one. This is due to the location of the pinch bolt. But it doesnt affect handling beacuse the spindle is above the point that causes the difference in the fork legs!

You need to buy a stand that has adjustable height in one of the arms... Like this one. http://shop.2wheelsonly.co.uk/motogp...set-1945-p.asp

Or a headstock stand, but I only tend to use that if i'm dropping forks out, as they are a bit cumbersome and awkward compared to fork cups.

Hope this helps and which club you racing with?

Thank you for your replies,I have decided to buy the headstock style stand, it may be a bit fidlier but it will be much more stable and I can drop the forks out completley if I need to.
