Replacement Seat Discussion
 

Me too, i took the mrs to matlock today on a warm up ride today 120 mile round trip (she's not coming tomorrow, wahoo !).
Hope my rear end dont ache as much as it did today, it was killer.
Am i the only person who doesnt think the sv is the most comfortable?
Im leaving my house at 8.30am to make sure i get there on time.:)

I disliked it too, made my thighs ache even though I'm very amply padded but you do get used to it. I eventually swapped to a corbin seat as one was offered cheap and haven't looked back but you do get more used to it.

Do replacement seats make a big difference?
If it dont get easier then the sv will have to be replaced / added to cos my mrs wont do much more distance than we done today because its really uncomfortable for her, we had to stop in less than 50 miles today just so she could regain feeling to her ass.

It depends on the person, not everyone likes them, forget who it was but they got a corbin and hated it as it felt like a go kart seat (and in fairness it does at first, its about 3 inches lower than the stock one and ass shaped :)

You are welcome to have a seat tomorrow (remind me I've said that, I'll forget to offer again, I'm crap), see what you think at least. I took a chance on mine, got it cheap with the idea that I could flog it on without making much if any loss, so I could try it with impunity.

Corbin also do pillion seats, not sure on them though, I only got the riders one.

Cheers for that, i might if you dont mind.
I have heard of companys that modify your existing with gel etc and retrim it in leather and such like if you want it.

I've got the stock seat and find it perfectly adequate. Will be doing close to 300 miles tomorrow, and know I won't be sore in anyway at the end of that and could continue on to do many more.

With saying that though, I seem to be in the minority as most things I've read/heard mention how poor the stock seat is!

I hope im the same, but i doubt it.
Have you got youth on your side?
How tall are you?, i get the impression taller people seem to suffer more on the sv.

I'm 6'1", 65kg, just turned 23.

The only time I find it slightly uncomfortable is after a couple of hours on the motorway (i.e. not moving weight about, just sitting in a single position) but by then it's time to fill up anyway so it works out quite well.

Thing is mate your not that heavy... bet i am almost twice your weight.

i got the gel seat and its great... 6' 4" and erm "cough" 18.5 stone "cough"

Im 6'1" as well but a fair bit heavier and nearly 39 lol.
I was on the A38 today for ages not moving around so that could have been a big part of it.
Boring roads make you focus on the pain, whereas if you have nice surroundings it might take your mind off.
Also i have a boney ass with no padding so that dont help.
