Moving: Basingstoke / Reading
 
I'm going to be starting a new job, hopefully soon, based in Aldermaston, and I need somewhere new to live!

I have very little knowledge of the area, so I was wondering if any of you good people could give me any pointers where to look, where not to look etc.

Not looking for anything too specific, I'm not a country person and the above are the two closest towns so just looking for some ideas.

Kingsclere is nice, about 10 miles south of Aldermaston and a nice bit of road on the way to work :D

Basingstoke is no where near as bad as people like to make out...it's the same for every town. Some parts are nice, some parts not so much.

I wouldn't go as far as saying avoid the place...for me personally I'd much rather live in Basingstoke than Reading.

Aldermaston. Guildford is too far really.
