I haven't heard those sounds for a good 15+ years.

Played it as a kid on the best computer ever made, the Atari 520 STFM. Was never any good at it.

Those were the days though. When programs had to be thought about properly rather than just chuck extra memory at the problem. Back then it was all about the game play rather than the graphics...

All I ever met were bad a$$ pirates and the like - most of which I never saw coming :shaking:

I lost entire weekends to Elite.

I play Oolite from time to time now- great version of a classic with updateable content and you can trade your ship in for something else. How ACE is that?!

I wonder if Elite 4 will turn up in our lifetimes? Apparently they are working on it. But won't say much else.

I'd love an updated version of Frontier as well- loved that on the ST, flawed though it was.
