At the same time as you sell your old one - that way you make sure you're not without a bike.

in about 2 months time, summer is over credit crunch isnt .

broke people who dont ride in winter will be looking for a quick sale.

thats if your after a sports bike, if your after a trials/enduro there cheapest in spring because people sell there winter hacks and go back for a sports for summer

As others have said, it really depends on what you want. If yo want a nice shiney toy then mid winter - but there will be less choice as people tend to hang onto them till spring when prices recover. If you want a hack or commuter thenthe price fluctuation will be less as these are in demand whatever the weather!
