Got a parking ticket today...
 

...or really the missus did. For the car. Seemingly she parked it at an undisclosed location in Manchester on the same day that she was at work in...Plymouth. Which is odd.:-k. I'm not aware that she has any business up in that neck of the woods, and nor is she.

S, do I :laughat:or should I :-({|=? She doesn't seem interested in what I say may be a good course of action.:-?

I wouldn't sit back and accept the parking ticket if you missus wasn't in Manchester on the date/time in question. Does she have any proof that she wasn't there i.e. that she was in work in Plymouth? I would most definitely contest it.

Yep, I agree. Fortunately there is a web address on the letter. www.carparkingparnership.co.uk . That has a search engine and inputting the data from the letter it now appears that our car has also mystreriously changed colour:confused:. I've just been outside and checked and it is still green:compress: although the website has us down as silver. So..it's either 'the mysterious case of the cloned number plate'...or...a problem with the visual/digitary transcription interface facility malarkey.:smt036

Most likely a cloned plate. All of the twa... er, I mean traffic wardens I've seen operating in Manchester take pictures with digital cameras to support the ticket so the plate would be checked against the details they've written down.

Is it a Manchester city council ticket, or one of those private scam ones. If Manchester council then take it up with their appeals people. If a scam ticket, ignore

TBH not really 100% certain (well, it's definetly not from the council - it appears to be from an independant firm but whether they are kosher or not I couldn't say) but there is a website complete with appeals procedure.

Yep get on to them and get them to prove it was your car.
I had a letter from a london borough council accusing me of entering a one way street from the wrong direction.
The number plate was for my bike, but fortunately the letter had a picture of the accused vehicle and amazingly my bike had morphed into a mercedes sprinter van!

PMSL couldnt even be bothered to mach size of vehicle letalone colour!! a friend of mine got there car cloned they got clobered with unpayed conjestion charges the car never left kent only used for school run, the pics of the car where a perfect match, they fort it through as they had cctv footage of there car and her in the school grounds

Write and tell them that your car was in Plymouth and where and time if you can
Sounds like the car plate been cloned
I had this on a speeding ticket once

Got it sorted by proofing through my V5 what my car was against the one that had collected the ticket
