Muse - The Resistance

So, what do you think?

Its a really diverse album.

Uprising (Track 1) takes is place as the obvious single, likeable by the 'public'. Good opener.

Undisclosed Desires (Track 3) is not what I was expecting from them. It is definitely the opposite end of the scale to Micro Cuts (dark, classic Muse).

They managed to fit a bit of Queen into track 4, United Sates of Eurasia, which was a surprise, but lyrics hold true to past albums.

I Belong to You (track 8) is the definitely highlight of the album, sheer genius.

The symphonies are brilliant too, but you really do have to sit down and listen to them without distraction.

On the whole, I like it, but was expecting more, its quite a short album if you exclude the symphonies.

Re: Muse - The Resistance

As a massive Muse fan i absolutely love it, but i have to admit it's taken 5 or 6 listenings for it to really get under my skin the way Origins did and i do find that, with the exception of Uprising, it needs to be listened to as a complete work - the songs individually aren't exceptional but typical Muse, as a complete work it's very moving.

I'm desperately hoping to see them in Birmingham in November, my mums been hinting at tickets, but not said anything directly which is just a cruel tease. She knows its on my list of things to do before i'm 40 and there's only 1 year 7 months and 5 days left....
