How does he get the spring off the side stand for his Bandit?

Sorry it's a bandit.

Yes, we are probably special but it's not helping that's it's all gunged up with crap and looks like it's never seen bike cleaner. He wanted me to ask the internet, so here I am.

Put the stand down and put some coins between the coils of the extended spring.

Then slowly retract the stand and the spring will remain extended because of the coins. You should then be able to remove the spring.

To re install hook spring onto stand, fully extend stand and remove the coins.

Of course this works as long as it isn't a double spring jobbie (Yes Honda I'm looking at you).

i use a coat hanger, use the hooky bit to hook on to hook of the spring and pull


but........ the coins idea is a good one

I've got a special screw driver[1] I bent the tip round on for things like this.

at least i can use mine to hang my jacket up when finished.......... or make an ariel for my car
