Spraying your own fairings etc

As I'm struggling to find lowers in lively yellow (Y9H) for an 02 curvy I wondered about buying whatever I could get hold of and respraying them. Any views on how easy this is to do if I was to get a colour matched spray can. I know the process can be more complicated for more metallic colours but thought it might be more viable with yellow.

prep is everything, any imperfections show through in the finish, paint does not cover them up.

www.bikecolour.com or http://motorbikepaint.co.uk/ will do colour match paint in either wet paint or aerosol for code.

Cheers Mark.
