Oops..

.. not great news following the recent atmosphere on the forum.

Low slided this evening coming off a roundabout, leant over a bit too much really for the conditions, long dry spell then rain this morning, as I was coming off the exit bike slide along the road from between my legs.

..Did a bit of a famous roll, got up straight away, ran to bike, picked it up and moved it out of the dual carriage way.

Managed to ride the bike home with bugger all of a gear lever which was a challenge.

I'm fine, sore **** as it hit the floor at 35, crash bungs have saved me a lot of damage to the bike too.

Damage so far I've discovered;

Left crash bung,
and rear crash bung destroyed,
clutch leaver scratched,
bars bent I believe,
bar end destroyed,
gear leaver snapped.
left mirror scratched to beans i think

Hopefully no further damage has been caused however I'll inspect and photos tomorrow. People behind me said there was a lot of sparks, but I imagine that to be the mirror and bar end hitting the floor.

Thanks to the people that helped me get it running again and made sure I was alright. As well as R&G who's crash bungs have saved a costly amount of damage.

That sucks. Did the same thing myself, coming off a roundabout and just leant it that little bit extra and down I went. Bike slid up on to the grass. It's easily done
At least you're ok. Hope the bike gets fixed soon

I had a near miss with a red van today, as he didn't bother to stop at a roundabout, only to find yours truely mid roundabout on my Litespeed. Now I know I'm fast, but not that fast and I was wearing a bright red cycling top, so he couldn't say he hadn't seen me.

But his observation on the approach alerted my 6th sense and I knew he wasn't going to stop, so I slowed down. Lucky me :smt070

An EBAY bargain, I bought just the frame. But it is lush, even though it's 2nd hand

Looking at a newer Colnago to replace the old steel Colnago one I have in the garage, although there's a lovely Carbon Merlin & a Carbon Ridley too. :p

I just wish EBAY had been around when I was young and fit :p
