RE: HOVIS - Please Read :-)

Right guys, before I start, I will just say this, I am probably one of the worst offenders, so not having a go at anyone at all, please bear that in mind.

Almost all of the threads started in memory of Hovis, our very dearly missed friend have started to derail completely today. As said, I've been among the worst, it has been cathartic bringing a lighter side to things to some degree, but I feel that now is the time to pull the plug on it all.

Mogs visited Hovis' mum on Sunday, as a personal friend, not an org representative, but he did tell her about the astounding outpouring of thoughts and well wishes on this forum that we are all so very proud to be members of.

With that in mind, I propose that we now clean up these threads, allow the mods to clean up as well if they feel they need to and remove any posts that are not in fitting with the sentiment of the thread or could be seen as being disrespectful.
Again, I want some of my own removed, like the one where I have said, "once an attention wh0re, always an attention wh0re". To those of us at mine and Stretchies house sharing our grief on Sunday, it was a post that brought a little humour to an otherwise incredibly hard day, but not a post that I would ever want to be seen outside this forum.

So, I would please ask that no one take offence to any of your posts that may be removed or indeed any of the threads that will be cleaned shortly.

Despite the need to smile and laugh for our friend, this is still a very difficult and emotional time, so please be understanding and I hope that I and the mods have the support of all you in doing this.

I would like Mrs. F to see the very best of the org, just as David did.

Hope this is ok xxx

Also, if you could please, as mentioned later in this thread, do your own cleaning to help the Mods out. They have lost someone close too and we must remember that we are all not alone in our grief.

I assume you will leave the condolences one open as people are still posting in it? But maybe there a clean up too as there's a little chat here and there.

I'm all for cleaning them up if thats required however i think the "attention wh0re" comment made us all smile and may well be worth keeping seeing what it followed, it was a sweet comment from friends who knew and loved him, no?

Yep.....not my decision, but I think it would be right to keep it open, but modded to keep it clean. ;-)

I don't mean to teach Granny to suck eggs, but I'm guessing since you posted this you don't know. You can completely remove or clean up your own posts by going into the edit feature.

In about a month I may be able to. I have been on this laptop and this forum from 8am to gone midnight Sunday, yesterday and have been all day today........and I am still struggling to keep up. 159 PM's between 8am and midnight yesterday. Keep them coming folks as you're doing me a favour keeping me busy, but I'll let Spidey delete.......after all, he has the power!!!

Ralph makes a good point here actually.

Can i ask all of you who have posted in the various threads to go and look at your own posts and see if they need editing or removing. I'd rather you all made your own judgements about your posts rather that it be my decision on what goes and what stays.

agreed, a sensible and very appropriate action.
