Guess What?

I got out on the bike today for the first time since I busted my shoulder.

Did 50 miles. I was absolutely crapping it for the 25 on the way out. I was doddling along like an old lady, as if I had just passed my test again yesterday. I must have pulled in 6 times when I seen anything behind me. I was saying i my head "I want to go home, I want to go home, I want to go home."

I stopped in a wee village called Barrhill for 5, 10 minutes and chilled myself out a bit.

The 25 on the way back in was much smoother, more confident and altogether more fun. I was even looking for overtakes!

Shoulder is slightly sore now, could feel the muscles startingto tighten nearer the end.

Anyway, I am rather happy and wished to share it with you all!:D

Well done, I'm still feeling uneasy after my off but the feelings do slowly subside.

Thankfully, my injury was as the result of work, not an off. Don't know if would have gotten back on if I had an off this summer...

Yeah but if you don't feel right you'll be awkward in your positioning and such and that can affect riding too. Cos you're trying to avoid any movements which might cause a twinge.

Yep, you're right there. Think that because I was a bit nervous, I was really tense. Plus, my shoulder hasn't been in that position since I was injured and I had a lot of muscle wastage so will probably take a few runs before the muscle memory is back.

Overall it was a success though.

Thanks Gracie! I had managed to get rid of the feeling earlier on this summer and was really starting to make progress with my riding and then a big absence has just returned it all back to zero.

At least I had made it to the stage I was begining to enjoy it before I busted my shoulder or I may have ended up not going back out!
