Road signs for tanks in Germany? WTF???
When I was in Germany last monthe I kept seeing these signs, anyone know what they are all about (the bottom one that is)

They're NATO military bridge classification signs, posted near bridges and viaducts to indicate the safe load-carrying capacity (in tons) of the bridge for military vehicles.

they have them in pembroke as well ( theres been a NATO but essentially German tank range on the edge of wales since 1950 )

30 tons max limit if two tanks are crossing the bridge at the same time.
or 80 tons limit if one tank at a time is crossing. hth's |

Why are you allowed a 100 ton truck but only a 80 ton tank? :)

germans don't have 100 ton tanks any more...but a tank on a transporter ......
