Top box and Panniers on a Curvy?

I know it can be done, has anyone done it and what have you used?

Givi parts would seem to be PB02 topbox mount and PLB521 pannier mounts, which are discontinued. Ive found a few places list the side carriers but then they must try and order them and find no stock at Givi, and one of the few places listing that top mount is in the states and wants $150 shipping to get it this side of the London Olympics

I was told that Krauser may still do a set up, but the whole lot would be worth more than my bike.

Has anyone used the mounting kits for a different bike, the wingack style looks quite useful, suggestions as to variants to try welcome. I dont mind remaking / tweaking the kits, especially if i can get one off ebay or similar cheap to try.

cheers

Givi is good stuff, also Nonfango seemed good quality at reasonable prices, although that was some time ago and I've not seen it advertised recently -may still be out there somewhere though.
Krauser: Is that still made - haven't seen that in some while either.

Hmmm, Nonfango dont have any specific kits listed.

Can anyone think of something with a similar back end that could be adapted? Would something like the early Bandit work?

Givi do a universal fitting kit, which consists of a number of different length bars, brackets, bolts, spacers which should cater for almost any bike. My mate got one when I sold him my WingRack (apparently the Trident is too old to have it's own fitting kit now) and it only took around an hour to get it all fitted. Most of that time was spent swapping bits round to see what fitted best, and the end result is rock solid.

Ive bought a wingrack, and have the best part of 2 universal fitting kits.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to get the rack top fit my curvy?

Im struggling to work out the best way to get them all to bolt on without taking the bike up to the shed and welding loads of bits to the subframe

Off the top of my head, I'd use the pillion footpegs, and the bar under the pillion seat with the bungie hooks to mount the side arms, and the top should then fit to the sides. If there's a way you can get a bracket out from under the pillion seat / grab rail mounts that would help firm it up.

On the aforementioned Trident, we had it mounted to the pillion footpegs and the grab rail mounts. hth

Pillion pegs and grab rails mounts have worked so far, seems prertty solid. Cheers phi-dan
