Difference between plugs?

I am changing the plugs for the first time on a bike I have just bought (because I was advised to) . The ones I have just removed are NGK CR8EK Which have 2 grounding points for the electrod. However I am told to fit NGK CR8E Which has one grounding point. Does anyone know if it is worth spending the extra cash by fitting the same type as I have taken out? Does the 2 grounding points make it more efficient or what?

I use CR8E's in my SV, not had any real problems with them and they always look ok (as in, as good as a spark plug should look after 8000 miles of riding). I shouldnt imagine you'd get much more performance from the other plug

Re: Difference between plugs?

Multiple earth electrodes are primarily to reduce wear rates.

The spark uses the gap with least resistance, sparking gradually erodes the electrodes and increases the gap so the resitance increases and the spark then occurs at the other gap. The erosion is thus shared and the service life is increased.

It's not something I'd think is an issue on most bikes with relatively short service intervals, unless they are specified by the manufacturer.
