I think the short battery life and not being able to plug it in to any external power limit its use too much.

I have a cheap one like the one in the first linky and i use rechargeable batteries with it. It doesnt exactly get hot and the zig zag coil is only about 10sq cms, one each side by your kidneys.

Its a nice additional layer but seeing as the 8 new rechargeable batteries set me back another 20 odd quid is wasnt such a great buy tbh.

Still when it very cold it a nice extra layer even without the heat being on.

I have a Klan heated waistcoat that I picked up cheap, havent wired it into the bike yet....is it an easy job?
