Not sure if it`s possible to do but does anyone know where I can download a free version of microsoft word? and I need it tonight :( Many thanks in advance.

If you need to save the document as a word document though to send to some one else whos using Microsoft word . then when you are saving the document you need to change it from openoffice doc to xp 2000 2003 word doc , its in the options .

otherwise they will not be able to open it unless they have open office too.

It does and you don't, hence why I no longer "acquire" MS Office;)

Quite right. There is no free, legal downloads of Microsoft's Office suite to be downloaded, however, the Open Office project gives you compatible software which is free and easy to use.

Just try to make sure that you save things in .doc format, not .odf (Open Document Format). From Office 2007, I think Word opens odf files fine, but older versions get fussy.

open office (.org) :)
fully compatible with word and completely free. Should see you through
