Red Seat Advice

I've been looking for a naked SV for a few months now, but had to sell my GSX-R600 first (a few folk on here offered theirs when I got round to selling, so thanks for that). Nothing much was happening so in the end I traded it in, and luckily got what I was looking for privately as a trade-in.

I've now got a very low mileage, nearly new, naked K8 - I almost bought a new Gladius but just couldn't bring myself to do it !!!

Anyway, I'm chuffed to bits with it and already have a tail tidy and hugger ready to go. However, there's on thing I'm not sure about - it's got a red seat !!! I was going to come on here and swap it for a black one, but when my wife saw it she loved it. That's got me thinking and I'm now almost starting to like it myself.

What do you think - keep or swap ?

Nice looking sv, black and red goes well together, so the seat is fine, but the exhaust has to change, HTH ;)

+1 - then red everything else - lines, bolts - it will look rather stunning

The red seat looks okay. It would probably look better with a bit of colour elsewhere like a red decal set on the tank.

Yeah, a new can is most definitely needed but I'll probably swap the tyres first. It's got the dreaded Sportmaxes on and they're as nasty as I remember from the last time I experienced them.

The new can will need to wait until after Christmas, I've got a BMX bike and a Wii to buy first (neither for me, unfortunately !!!).

I had the same. I swapped the seat for a black one because, to me, it looks wrong having a red front and a black rear seat.
If there was a red rear seat available then I would have gone down that route.
I have to admit that I do still like the red seat though.

do you take pillions? if not drop the rail and get a cowl, keep the red seat but shy away from anymore red as the seat is nice and understated and as a single seat would look V nice :)

I have the same bike, love the red seat, think it looks good. Just had a spare pillion seat lowered as used to get stuck with my leg when getting on and off the bike plus the pillion seat looks too high anyway. Now it's a bit lower and more streamlined and I 'might' get it recovered prerably to a similar red but not sure if I will be able to find it. The red seat goes well with the decal.
