Clutch problem.
Hi
we have a 2002 sv650 with a clutch that is biting with the lever pulled in. I am at the limit of the adjustment on the bars and have pulled it in on the gearbox and although the leve has gone tight I am still getting drag and it stalls as soonas I put it in gear. Should I slacken it off on the bars and then tighten it on the gearbox or will that not make any difference? Cheers for any help |
Re: Clutch problem please help!
See this thread

If its still dragging try an oil change, this was what made mine drag. |
Re: Clutch problem.
Cheers for the help, will try to sort it over the weekend

Re: Clutch problem.
This may be of some use:
http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=142848 Got it so the clutch wasn't disengaging at all no matter what I did with the adjuster. Chain adjustment, rear wheel bearing!, idle speed & oil need to be checked. A very wise man told me yesterday: Clutch adjustment at engine end, lever adjustmet at lever end. |
Re: Clutch problem.
If you continue having clutch problems, then change the oil. I had some issues with my clutch dragging when the engine was cold, an oil change later and all was well.
