What's your fastest 10 miler?
Does not matter if it were done in a proper TT or just timed privately.
Went out for a quick ride today, decided to do the first 10 miles as quickly as i could, managed it in 29 minutes with a traffic light stop ever lap (5 laps) so was fairly pleased with it for a first effort, it was a flat course though. Anyone do them regularly? Have any tips on training methods? |

Seriously...you're not going to get welcome replies here.
On the road time trialling = idiot First ten miles = cold tyres. |
Re: What's your fastest 10 miler?
I am confused.. *yet again*
Is this on a track? 29 minutes for 10 miles? Thats like travelling at an average speed of 20mph.. Or are you a bloody cyclist? ;) Jokes :D |

Re: What's your fastest 10 miler?
wait am mo, if my maths is right.... 10 miles in 29mins = aprox 20mph as your average speed???
I made a dash of 20miles in about 14mins once...and erm in that private off road training scenario we covered some motorway, some dual carriageway and some bits set up to look like the approaches to central london :) |
Re: What's your fastest 10 miler?
I think he is talking about a push bike rather than a motorbike...
anything under 30 minutes for a 10 mile TT is decent... I think you're on the wrong forum though.. try www.bikeradar.com |
Re: What's your fastest 10 miler?
That would make a lot of sense

If you want to improve then you'll need to consider
Diet Training regime Interval training is good way to build up speed for TT's so you might think about doing 2 x 20 minutes. Basically you warm up ( important dont leave this out especially pre ride for your actuall TT ) Then sensible pace for 20 minutes then flat out for 20 minutes and so on. There is a huge amount of stuff on the bike radarforum on this subject, written by people more qualified than me ! |
