Moving forward with the clutch in.

I noticed today whilst testing after fixing my little running problem that if the bike is in first and I rev the engine to say 3k rpm it creeps forward, revving it higher it creeps forward faster. Is this a badly adjusted cable or a sign of something else?

Many Thanks :smt102

I had almost the same on mine soon after I got it and it was difficult to get neutral too. All that was needed was the clutch adjusting. But you could also change the oil if it hasn't been done for a while.

The oil is brand new rich so that's ok, then you say adjust the clutch do you mean the cable or is there some other adjustment/

Mine was in on warranty but they told me the cable was adjusted and that sorted it.

Has it got a lot of play on the lever that you can take up? (ps hubby told me that - I don't know anything about bikes !)

First adjust the clutch - not just the cable.

A little bit, maybe 1 cm but that could be just the wobble in the lever

Sid, sorry but confuded (easily done with me).
I been out & checked stuff this morning, notice I have similar prob.
On the rear stand, in neutral, if I rev the engine slow spin on the back wheel.
Read the book about adjusting, but seems to be only clutch cable unless I am missing something.
Bear in mind I am newb to this, I have about 15mm 'wiggle' at the lever before any resitance is felt when pulling clutch in, but when 'wiggled' you can see the activation lever moving (a little) down the bottom with the front sprocket cover off.
SHould I have movement down there (ooo er missis), should I have 'wiggle' at the lever, thought this was the freeplay the book was talking about or am I a complete ar$e.
Answers on a postcard please to ........

OK, I am a plank, read it again a couple of times & I get it now, worm drive adjusts at the clutch, not the 'cable' adjuster just above.I am a :safe:
