Are you dyslexic?

According to Dyslexia Action, about 10% of the population are dyslexic in some form. In the Spelling and Grammar thread there seem to be a fair number of members saying they are - are you?

Totally unscientific study, but what rate will the poll show?

Yes, am looking for funding to carry out a full study into possible genetic inheritance

(my theory is that is comes down the male line as my father and brother are both affected also.)

Re: Are you dyslexic?

Yes diagnosed, got a report and everything (and got a free computer and other stuff from local LEA when I went to uni)

But I don't use it as an excuse! I just work harder, while at uni it was offered that I could have a signed statement placed on the front of each piece of work I did, to say I was dyslexic and they where not to mark my assisment down for bad spelling and grammer, I didn't have this done, I just took longer over my work and would always ask somebody to read it before I submitted it. Only advantage I took was my extra 25% in time in exams, and my computer! :-D

I am not, some of my family are. Those same members of my family are neurotic, emotionally unstable and quite, quite odd. Not sure if this is related to Dyslexia though!
