Lower fairings Pointy. Want to ride without them

Hi

I have brand new fairings on my SV. I am a bit scared of damaging them (not cheap) on my commute. Can I remove them and store them for when I sell the bike and ride around fine without them.

I have R&G crash bungs, are these the same whether you have fairings or not?

Any issues??

Nope I remove mine every so often. just get a 17mm socket an remove the bung undo a few bolts round the fairings and put your bung back on.

infact they're off in the avatar, means you get more splash on your engine and stuff though and with the salt on the road it might be an idea to clean it up and give stuff an anticorrosion coating.

Is it ok just to ride around without them? Any issues (I preume its the same as half faired SV?)

yeah, the only things to take into consideration is the crap being chucked up into your engine/downpipes. Other than that it doesn't make a bit of difference, just a slightly less expensive crash.

I would ACF50 anyway, and without fairings it would be easier to clean in all the tight places.

Or just sell it and get a bike I really dont care/worry about

sounds about right.

what year sv is it? you could just convert to a cheaper sv if you worry about this one.

Sell the fairings whilst they're still nice and new, is my advice for someone in your particular situation.

Did I mention I'm after some fairings?

Yes that was my first thought. Get a cheap bike as I just ride it for work.

It a nice bike, 2007, black, FSSH. Just seems too nice to hack back and forth from work on.
