wait for it - Oxford Grips.

ok

So bought some Oxford Grips. :smt041

They appear to be the latest version, the switch being one with two buttons on it, + and -.

Wired it straight to the battery, fitted the bracket for the switch and placed the switch on the bracket. connected the grips up without fitting them on the actual bar ends

I switched the bike on, warmed it up, went to turn on the hot grips, held the button down for two seconds as directed and got a blue light that stayed on for about 2 seconds then went off.

Disconnected the grips and tried again, the light came on but stayed on this time, when i pressed the + button it cycled through all the various temps. I connected one of the grips and the light stayed on, the grip got hot. Connected the other grip and the light went off straight away.

Tried that grip by itself and the light went off straight away as soon as the wires touched.

I know its nothing to do with their being enough current etc, its just the one grip that seems to be the issue.

Any one have ideas as to what i should look for? checked the connections and it appears to be ok

Any one had a similar problem?

Do this, but have it in the back of your mind that it might be your bike that's at fault.
The grips have a cut off at 11.5v so if you have your engine on and the grips cut off it suggests low voltages... Have you put a multimeter on your battery? (when on and off etc)
