Hells bells ... where was that driver looking .....
You can almost see the moment the copper realises he's in trouble !!! |

Must resist....

Re: Policeman trying to re direct traffic
Stupid act by the copper placing himself in such danger. I am sure there was no need to try to block traffic like that

Re: Policeman trying to re direct traffic
What an idiot! Look at the way the HGV has to change lane, difficult to tell, but he's probably full loaded and no way he can stop in the time expected of him by the copper. If the traffic needed to be stopped for an incident just out of shot then the traffic would already be queuing, and it'll have taken him a number of minutes to respond, so he must have had at least a mile after that junction to bring them all to a stop. Why didn't he just wait for one his colleagues who were 30 seconds behind him, then join the motorway and stop the traffic with a rolling road block? The ambulance driver is perfectly capable of joining the motorway as normal, then moving over to the hard shoulder to undertake the traffic and the rolling block, and get on his way to the incident, with an escort from the third bike cop if necessary, second bike cop could catch up once the rolling block has come to a stop.
The Dutch police obviously don't get the same level of training our coppers do. |
Re: Policeman trying to re direct traffic
I thought it was going to be the lorry that hit the copper as as Ralph said there was no way he'd get stopped in time. When the lorry moved it only gave the cars behind moments to respond and move out of the way.
But god knows where that car was looking as it didn't even seem to react until metres before the impact!!! But again why did he feel the need to stop traffic on a dual carriageway which was by all rights empty? |
