Braided brake line options.
 

Hi looking at fitting some braided lines ready for the good weather, has anyone got any recommendations of brands or shops to buy from. had a look round and theres quite a few different types out there. are they all pretty much the same or should i go for a paticular brand.

Goodridge, HEL, Venhill.

Can't go tofar wrong with those. Make sure you get stainless banjos and not aluminium or cadmium plated steel (although I don't think you can get those anymore anyway.)

I got a 3 piece goodridge race set off a guy on ebay who at the time was knocking out loads of kits for about £60, i didnt bother with the stainless kits but this is the 2nd winter my bike is going through with a zinc kit and hasnt had any problems yet

Hel do stainless kits for about £60 maybe slightly cheaper, they got my order wrong (which doesn't seem uncommon) so I sold those and bought some goodridge ones for a similar price. Stainless fittings is recommended. Both do the same job imo.

Performance wise there will be no noticeable difference between any of the kits, configurations, or manufacturers.

However, some manufacturers such as Goodridge have a better reputation for getting the line lengths spot on than others.

I have goodridge on mine, they have stood up well to the bike being used all the time in all weathers.

Considering how much they cost probably a good idea to add copper crush washers to your order.
And make sure you specify your exact model of bike including whether it's a 'n' or an 's' (pretty vital for the lengths).

They usually supply washers with the kit.

I would always go for 2 line "race" setup. Is easier to bleed, lighter and less possible leakage points.

My goodridge set didn't come with them :mad: - hel did though, thinking about it.
