Brands Track Day riders
 

Good news...

Brands Hatch is getting some new tarmac :)

If your a novice track dayer like myself, u'll remember the nasty line that ran around clearways. For me (I go in wide and come out tighter), it mean I ran accross this line whilst leant over. All well and good for those who have done many track days, but for me it unsettled me mentally and could never get the bike as far over as I wanted it.

Well hopefully in 2010 I won't have this problem :smt041

From what I can see, they have done the entrance to Surtees, all the way round onto the start/finish straight.

I couldn't see Paddock onwards, but from riding it last year those areas didn't need replacing.

So good news for us riders :D

That line was awful the first time, I think it affected me more mentally than it did the bike physically and after a couple of days it was less of an issue - that said I'll be glad to see the thing gone!

Well never done a track day let, but will be doing one this year there so thats nice its going to be nice and smooth

Wonder if that recent -14 super chilly spell has affected any tracks - its certainly messed up a few roads around here, big cracks and potholes magically appeared. Guess track tarmac is a bit better quality and copes better.

Wasn't intending on doing that! It is relative anyway quicker for me is still bl00dy slow for you RH!

Don't you believe it, you'd be surprised how close actual corner speeds are. What makes the difference is how far you can carry the speed into a corner, and how quickly you can get it on coming out.....

Now I actually have a back brake on the CBR this might help! We'll see. I was just looking at the first sort of viable dates for Brands this year and there are a few cheap and cheerful ones coming up.

Has anyone booked anything yet?
