Top speeds

Hi All

I realise that this isn't really important but just as a point of interest (especially for non-biking mates) does anyone know what the top speeds acheived by the minitwins are at various circuits? All I can find is average lap speeds.

Cheers

Jonesy

About 125 for me at Cadwell. Although that's not strictly speaking a mini-twin and I only know it because it hits the limiter in top (and its geared for 125).

Re: Top speeds

Non of the race series use a top speed trap unlike at BSB where they generally have 2 speed traps running, although these generally dont show top speed.

We are going to ask the guys in charge of the infield speed gun at Snett to set one up at the meeting in march to get an indication on the back straight. Steve wants to know what his tuned bike with race gearbox is pulling. On the dyno it read 167mph working on gearing and gear ratio charts it shows 166mph..!!!

No its a fully tuned 700cc SV with Nova gearbox running a 17 front sprocket and 39 rear!! - shows you how short the std gearbox ratios are! LOL.

Re: Top speeds

Our only perspective on this is the time it has taken #31 to complete 100m along the snetterton straight with gearing set for top speed rather than acceleration. Time was 1.65secs meaning speed was approx 135.5718mph allowing for dodgy eyesight! I know some teams have claimed 140 mph though............
