M53 Corridor
I'm after a bit of advice about the M53 corridor between Chester and Wallasey.
Basically, anywhere along the peninsula. There is a possibility that we may have to move up there because of work and I was just wondering what that area was like in terms of schools and general family life. We've already looked at house prices and such and we can afford a hell of a lot more up there than we can here in the south but which areas should we avoid and which would be a good place to look at? Ta muchly! J |
Re: M53 Corridor
Most people will tell you to avoid Ellesmere Port - but I rather like the place. Some parts are really very nice, particularly around Sutton and Neston (which overlooks the Dee). I used to work for the council there. I go to Liverpool once or twice a week and turn off the M53 onto the A41 at J7 and go through Eastham - which is also very acceptable if a bit busy because of the A41 - and then Bebington (also OK), and into Birkenhead (still a bit grimy TBH) and through the tunnel. I don't really know Wallasey - Flymo's your man, he lives there. Generally the Wirral is a nice spot to live, a lot of it surprisingly rural, but with the advantage of a large city not far away.

Re: M53 Corridor
2 cities really, as there is also Chester which is lovely. North Wales also on your doorstep, Cheshire Oaks (big shopping outlet place) and Manchester/Peak District not a million miles away.

Re: M53 Corridor
And discount other parts of Cheshire which aren't too far off the M53/M56 like Helsby, Frodsham etc. Nice enough places to live :D

Re: M53 Corridor
Thanks guys :smt023 More than appreciated.
As it turns out the hospital is not willing to pay what they said they would so this move looks unlikely. |
Re: M53 Corridor
