stripping USD forks
having never stripped a set of usd forks can someone who has done this please satisfy my curiosity.
what i would like to know is, once you have taken off the top nut from the cartridge can you just slide the outer tube (part with the seals) off? or do you need to strip the cartridge out. if so can you just undo the bottom retaining bolt and take the cartridge out in one piece? |
Re: stripping USD forks
Usually, yes, there's no need to remove the damper assembly.

Re: stripping USD forks

Re: stripping USD forks
On a similar vein, how about draining the oil from 1991 USD GSXR 750 forks, just undo the top nut and tip out into a container ?
What weight fork oil & what air gap as standard? |
