quick folder question
Dont want to dwell just a simple answer if there is one.....
I am currently running windows vista. In windows vista I have a documents folder. In this document folder I have 2 websites. Now here is the problem. One website has a folder which looks like a little world on it, (this allows me to publish my site) the other doesent but needs to have this little world on it to allow me to publish the website. How do I get that folder to look like a little world folder again as I am very confused! Google turns up not alot when searching for little world folders in vista. |

Re: quick folder question
IIRC from when i had to mess about with our works website a while back its cos one folder is a ftp type and the other aint.
That was on XP pro btw but i think they kept the same idea onto vista. The ftp folder is what will be uploaded and the copy folder is what you can mess with and then copy across to the ftp folder. I could be a little wrong on this but i think thats about the long and short of it. Wheres our resident computer geeks when you need them eh? |
Re: quick folder question
i know...So i suppose the question is....How do you turn it into a FTP type?
|
Re: quick folder question
is this trickier than I first imagined?
|
Re: quick folder question
But why do you need to turn that one into and ftp too? Are they not identical copies? If not, can you not copy what you want into the ftp folder?
I know i created ftp folders before using the software that i had to upload and download the website, tho i cant remember what it was called now. It may have been Easy Ftp actually. |

Re: quick folder question
Don't know much about vista - but i'm guessing that the built in default set-up only allows you to have one website.
How do you access the working website? and how "should" you be able to access the other one? |
Re: quick folder question
I access the working one by clicking in it and hitting publish site. Then it connects to the remote one and I can send across files etc.

Re: quick folder question
Oh I see. It's not hosted locally. I'm afraid I don't know anything about windows' automation here. If it was me I'd probably use FTP.
