Battery bolts
 

I tried fitting a battery charger harness recently but when the spade connectors were fitted under the battery bolts, there was not enough thread to screw the bolts in. Looks like i need some slightly longer ones.

Anyone know the spec or where to get some new ones?

Take the washer off if there is one.
Get a screwdriver behind the nut and push tight against the inside of the battery stud when threading the bolt.

stick a blob of blue tac under them to push the nuts up - screw the bolts in and remove the blue tack. I do it each time tbh :-)

or take your existing ones down to your local d.i.yshop get some same size and just cut to desired length.

From memory (at work so cannot check, I think they are an M6. Available anywhere.

I like the idea of a bit of blue tack under the nuts to push them up.

If it helps I used a jaycloth when putting my charger connector on.

I tore a strip off the cloth and folded it, then placed the strip in the battery terminal with the end of the strip sticking out, then balanced the nut on top.

Get the screw and harness on, and the nut should be raised enough to catch on the screw.

When the screw is tightened, grab the end of the strip sticking out of the battery and pull the strip out.
