ohhhh yes great crack some really decent people may venture down again meself date depending, one thing to be aware of for the uninitaiated (sp) there is some black patch b0llocks that goes on but it easy to avoid and genrally kept in check, ive had nothing but good times when there but tbh its not the best rally that would be
perverts in leather or P.I.L rally now that is absolutly f ing crazy a must go to (abite with open mind) but without question the most fun, beer fueled, laugh ive had in years, and its on your doorstep

Was exciting just after the 2005 event - as they were clearing up the heavens opened and ab inland tsunami wrecked the site. A couple of hogs ( not the lightest bikes on the planet ) were never found. If anyone's going, I'm only 15 miles away.

I might be tempted into going up this year... its on the things to do list. Just hope I can avoid getting roped into marshalling, because I'm sure it'd be mentioned if I brought it up at the group meet

Re: Farmyard Party

I've not been to a single rally that has been rubbish. Plenty of bands, loads of beer, plenty of dodgy burgers, although the last PIL and Wozwolf had some great alternatives.....and both had shower and proper toilets :-)
Best things are the silly games they have mid afternoon on a Saturday. Beardy hungover/drunk people having a laugh doing organised silly games, while equally drunk spectators get sunburnt.
Mind you haven't been to any in around four years, cause the time is spent on org events instead!

Reckon you might enjoy it Shell, just don't tell anyone its your first rally;-) Nobody ever admits to that, as there are consequences, which usually involves a very messy initiation ceremony!

Don't think you get that sort of thing at the farmyard, but from the same experience, I wouldn't admit to being a first-timer at a rally... at the least, you're going to be dragged into all of the silly games and indulging in bakery (well... eggs and flour are involved)

Actually I quite like the sound of that - but I think it's the same weekend as the MotoGP at Silverstone, in which case I'll be at the racing instead unfortunately. Maybe another one though?

In the good old days most of the ticket/gate money was given to a chosen charity. Seem to recall the last PIL one I went to gave to Derbyshire Air Ambulance, such a great bunch these bikers are :-) I'd presume rallies still carry on this tradition.
