SV Curvy electrics question
Well the SV is back with a new aluminum front and rear subframes. I have moved all the electics to the front and the battery box has moved to the front right.
Can some one tell me what coloured wires are used for the rev counter, oil pressure and neutral switches oh its a faired one and Im not using the miniloom for the clocks just the main loom. Can someone also identify what these wires do (see pictures)? The second is very blurred but its a 2 pin orange with white tracer and black with white tracer Its has keyless start which was working before all the wires but now just turns over. The quick test I have done shows the rear cylinder has spark and there is a smell of petrol. Thanks |
Re: SV Curvy electrics question
Pic no 1 looks like the speedo sensor, picture two is maybe the carb heaters?
Have you removed the ign switch? There is a resistor inside it that needs to be connected for the ECU to work. Wires are all shown in the wiring diagram, in the back of the haynes or floating around online somewhere! Druid |
Re: SV Curvy electrics question
Pictures are bad but first one looks like it is speedo connector, second one is extra.
rev counter wire is black/yellow, oil pressure single black wire and neutral is blue. |

Re: SV Curvy electrics question
I aint got the balls to do that!!! I have the resistor on the ECU and it was working fine, I'm thinking I have missed a plug or something. I have a Haynes manual but I cant see any reference to the rev counter in the wiring diagram

Re: SV Curvy electrics question
It's the (IIRC) black/yellow wire from the front coil.

Re: SV Curvy electrics question
rev counter is same black/yellow wire from front coil going straight to gauge.
If you have spark, fuel and motor turns over it should start. |

I'm thinking it may be choke I dont have a lever only the cable and its very stiff. I'll investigate further. Anyone got any tips on what lever to use on a track bike, Ive looked for one but nothing seems to fit. |
Re: SV Curvy electrics question
Maybe change plugs and try.
got to twf site and check race wire schematic, that is all you need to run bike and if those wires are connected it should run. |
