Car Insurance
Who do you use and which company would you recommend.
I been with Churchill for years and because I took my ex off the policy I lost all my discounts. Pfffft am I staying with them cancelled policy. Now looking for a reputable company, want to know what they are like in a claim. Directline are poo I know that much ! Anyone got any GOOD experiences ....I say GOOD as I not interested in the bad ones :) Fankoo |
Re: Car Insurance
Go Compare...Go Compareeeeee..With just a few clicks save your spodulicks!
Honestly id just do a search on a comparisson site. Check the excess, and benefits and choose the one thats the best value. I was with Churchill for 2 years, this year im with admiral as they offered a lower excess, a free courtesy car, for £5 a year more than my renewal with Churchy. |
Re: Car Insurance
I had insurance with kwikfit a couple of years ago, was involved in an accident where 3 aother vehicles went itno the back of me whilst I was stationary. I had a courtesy car dropped off to me the next morning and I had the money for my written off car in the bank in about 6 weeks. It would've been sooner but I argued the value of my car as it was insured as "market value" I got £200 more than I paid for it 6 months earlier!

Re: Car Insurance
I'd steer clear of those who insist on their 'preferred repairer', and will only stump a claim up to that value if you go elsewhere - like one of my previous insurers.
Their preferred repairer was a back street bodger who used second hand / pattern parts. I had to take the cash and pay the rest myself just to get the repair I would have naturally expected. |
Re: Car Insurance
Cheers ... I went on Gocompare and Kiwkfit and AA came out good.
I am pretty miffed with Churchy to be honest as they usually OK but the girl was snooty and was typing everything I said. So I cant even pretend to have a partner to get me discount bacK ............. being single stinks sometimes LOL |
Re: Car Insurance
Elephant.
Give them a call and avoid the extra cost involved with comparison sites. |
Re: Car Insurance
Shell, remember that churchill are also, direct line, privalage, devit, tesco, and a couple oters under the RBS Insurance band. AA are good. I was with them some years back. They dealt with the claim nice and efficently. Make sure that you get legal assistance and if possible claims assitance, these are the things that make any accident go smoothly, well the after effects anyway.

I do my bike and car insurance with Ecar / ebike. I like the fact that I can do it all on line and never ever have to ring a call centre. Their prices seem pretty good to... |

Shellywoozle are you looking for a good price on a policy or an insurance company that won't shaft you? (*!*....oops my oxymoron detector just exploded). If you're going for the former - then every quotes different so the only way to know you're getting the best price is by doing the dirty work and ringing round, I've found comparison sites to me highly innaccurate (to the point of offering invalid policies) however I'm under 21 and male, premiums differ by thousands of pounds insurer to insurer...you may erm...find things a little more stable. |
