GLADIUS /steam from radiator in wet conditions
 

Hi anybody else have the steam of shame from the radiator on there Gladius in wet conditions first time it happened to me i thought the rad had started leaking with steam everywhere,
i have complained to suzuki GB for them to fit a fender extender?? :rolleyes:

like to hear from any other Gladius members with the same problem

Erm...

Every bike will steam if the radiator is wet dude

Hot radiator + water = steam

Even with a Fender Extender, water will still get kicked up onto the Rad.

Good luck with the Fender Extender claim - they haven't done anything for the SV since the front-cylinder cut-out when wet issue came up YEARS ago.

the suzuki dealership admit the mudguard is to short?
quite aware that cold water on to a hot rad makes steam...:rolleyes:

try putting WD40 on the downpipe, you'll get even more smoke! :D

It's not a fault of the bike, it's the case with any bike...

I can't imagine you getting much except short shrift with Suzuki GB, it's like complaining that your bike gets dirty if you ride it in the rain or it's not as warm as your car...

Worth a stab though. For God's sake, Japan isn't in the middle of a desert, you'd have thought Suzuki would expect their bikes to be used in inclement weather and designed them accordingly. But the Gladius is trying to look like a Ducati, so maybe the intention was some Italian "character". What always freaks me it the stink of salt/mud baking on the headers. Quote a girl - "You're bike is smelling funky, not in a good way!" D'oh.

You could always wrap some blankets around the radiator and seal it all in watertight sealant...

You might get a bit more steam coming out the exhaust though

So is the one on the SV, So is the one on my GSXR, so is the one on my other halfs Ducati 749S...

All bikes do it when you ride in the rain. you could fit a mahoosive mudguard on there and the spray and mank would still get onto the rad and you'd get steam on it.

Like said above, I dont belive it to be a fault with the bike....
