R&G Tail Tidy questions

I have an R&G tail tidy which I'm halfway through fitting. I took all the rear plastics off my '04 pointy which was ok. Had a hard time getting to the 2nd of each bolt on each side that holds the snow plough on. Got it off in the end.

What I want to talk about is this: by taking off the snow plough, there is no longer the holder clip for the tank raising bar or the bits of plastic for the fusebox to mount onto. What does everyone do? I was thinking of something like velcro to keep it in place?

And where can I get some of those black plastic clips that hold some parts of the fairings together, the ones where to remove them, you push the middle and pull away the outer?

Matt.

Should have let me know. I have an R&G and you could have looked at mine.
I have the fuse box in a plastic bag and all the cables tied together to keep neat. The tank prop is located in my shed now. If you want a look at mine just let me know. I am off work for a few days so popping round is no problem. PM me if you want my number.
I think I have a piccy, I'll have a look.

ebay is ure best bet for clips you need 6mm (i think, mesure the hole) push rivets

and my bar was lost by the previous owner by fitting a undertray so make sure its secured good

Those rivets are notoriously hard to come by. I did find an on-line supplier that would send free samples, or you had to buy like 1,000 or summat (might be worth an .org group buy!). Either that or find a friendly local bike shop.

With regards to the gubbins under the pillion seat, I just move mine to one side and shove in my disc lock, puncture repair, fixa peg, tax disc etc. Once it's all tucked in next to the Scottoiler, there's not much room for owt else.

eBay has them plastic rivets (Item #400097435036), damn expensive for what they are... though I'm sure they were about a quid each from a stealer when I asked.

Thanks for all the help and the info. And for the offer Furry Ginger One. Gotta love this forum :oD

I will order some of those push rivets cos there were like 4 or 5 missing I think on my bike in various places!

And probs just use some sticky backed velcro to secure the fuse box and a cable holder to clip around the tank prop.

Another thing - I'm guessing I'm going to be left with a small gap once the tidy is on the bike?? Like between the undertray and the plastics?

Ah ok. Thx, I'm working all day tomorrow, possibly Friday daytime? I have work in the evening on Fri, and I next plan to finish the tail tidy on fri.
