Summer Tyres
Iv Currently Got A Combination Of Avons Viper Sport On The Front And A Storm ST On the rear, These Have Worked Really Well For Me Through The Cold Rain Wind And Snow But With The Next (Hopefully Hot) Season Approaching I Think I Might treat The Old Lady to Some Sticky Rubber ;), Any Suggestions?? Iv Been Considering a Pair Of Viper Sports Or Michelin Pilots??

Re: Summer Tyres
I got these on mine at the moment. they hold the road very well imo, not that i've been riding that long, and do get very sticky. i picked mine up off ebay, they were used as race tyres and used in a qualifying session and were too 'used' for the race event but more than adequate for the road. still got plenty of tread on and plenty of life left in them as yet and at about quarter of the price as brand new ones i'm happy with them. :thumleft:

Re: Summer Tyres
Just ride on the storms. You can go all the way to the edge on them with ease, they get nice and warm and stick well.

Re: Summer Tyres
Plus.....bare in mind, you get caught out on a nice summers day in the Uk by a rain shower and the super stickies will be awful. With a decent Sports Touring tyre you can ride in all weather.

Re: Summer Tyres
Hey Graham a really good combination of tyres, i have done 6500 on the front and its still going strong whereas the battlax i used beforehand turned noticeably pyramid shaped by this time (maybe that says something abut my riding ;) it warms up well even on straight roads and you can go as far over as your head/heart will take you, for the price they are amazing (a recent offer on m&p of £29.99 had me ordering two as spares :P) as for the rear tyre it took less than 70 miles to scrub in properly and really does compliment the front perfectly. This tyre has done the same 6500 and the only problem i have with it is the flat patch that has worn on top of the tyre although im sure this has something to do with me riding alot of motorways and being timid with my cornering throughout the winter. All in all a great combination and i cant wait next winter to get my hands on the dual compound storm 2 ultra :D

Re: Summer Tyres
Thanks for the info Chris. Yeh I got mine through that M&P offer and got the rear storm at the same time at 70quid but wish I had bought more like u did!
When going far over its not my head/heart that is in control but, as the joke goes, the boss of all a bit lower  |
Re: Summer Tyres
See if you get to the limits of the Storms then think about something stickier, rear storm has enough grip to lean way further than the chassis does.

Re: Summer Tyres
Really? Worst I saw from one was 5k (bad rear suspension, hard riding, 2000 of that 2-up and ragging the buggerance out of it)
Supercorsa SC2 lasted 1200 miles :-P |
