Brake Light Staying On

Hi all, I have another problem with my SV.... Its a completely stock SV650 SK4.

The brake light is staying on. Completely new type of fault to me so not sure where to begin.
I have given bother the front and back break a good few goes, disconnected the connection from the front brake lever, fiddled with the connection behind the guard on the rear brake lever but no joy. I got a very, very minor flicker when I fiddled with the rear brake lever connection.

Like I say I don't really know what I'm doing or looking for. Somebody has mentioned it could be a bad earth but I think it is more likely something to do with the rear brake connection as I had the lever replaced and this was the first time I have the bike on the road since.

As ever, all help and advice is, was and always will be, greatly received!

Pete.

Sounds like its just the position sensor.
try to loosen it as far as you can and see what difference that will make?

Is the pedal jamming down? Mine was last night. I rode for 20 miles with my brake light on...

You need to work out which switch it is. Disconnect first the front, then the rear, then both. This will tell you if it is the front or back brake light switches, or if it is something else. My best guess is the rear switch needs to be adjusted. This is very simple to do, there is a plastic hex nut that moves the unit up and down,. Turn the nut, not the switch unit or you will twist/loosen the wires.
