RS Bike Paints
 

I emailed RS bike paints last night to see if they had an engine paint for my bike (SV650S K6), this was the reply -

Hi

Thanks for your enquiry.

The only engine silver we have listed for the SV range is on the SV1000 for 2003-4 which is described a grey metallic (a mid and fairly bright shade of silver) finished with satin lacquer - do you know if this th same as yon your model?

I know photo's can't tell you anything about the shade of a paint, but at least these tell us it's not going to be 100 miles away

sounds like sonic silver YD8, which was a colour option on the SV1000 and SV650 K3s. Doesn't sound like engine paint. Could be wrong though.

If it is the engine colour, I think these are the same for 650 and 1000, so a likely match. Let us know how it goes - my engine is minging!

Maybe best ringing them, speaking to someone is better than email I find. When I asked about the engine colour for the curvy, they said there was different ones, and asked if I'd give them some of the flaking paint so they could match it properly.

They did get my fairing colours bob on.
