Help regarding a certain town in France.....

A while back someone posted up a pic of a town in France that they had visited by bike. I can not remember the name but it could have started with a D maybe? Anyhow this town is meant to be a lovely looking place and i was hoping someone may know the place i am talking about. All i know it is south of Calais and maybe a 4 hour drive from there. Would like to take the misses for our 10th anniversary so any help would be much apprecieted :)

Err yeah LOL

It may well not even begin with D and am just hoping someone will recall a post they did maybe last year showing a pic of a lovely town and that it is pretty well known for being one of the prettiest in France or something like that.

I know it is a shot in the dark but i might get lucky.

I think you might mean Dinan, about 15 - 20 miles south of St Malo. It's a beautiful place, lovely half timbered buildings, on the river. It really is stunning. St Malo is worth a visit too, its medieval walls and medieval town centre with castle were rebuilt after WW2.

Was it Dinan you were after? If that's the case great call Ed! I was thinking of Dijon maybe given the description of 4 hours south of Calais

Belgium next time maybe :)

Anyhow all sorted now. Cross over Friday evening 26th March and stay in cheapo ETAP in Calais. Sat morning drive down to St Malo/ Dinan area and going to look for a nice hotel for a few nights. On way down we will stop at the interesting looking Mont St Michel for a good few hours. Sunday will be in Dinan and St Malo walled city areas. Drive back to Calais Monday and have a lunch stop in some place but not picked a town yet.

Hope she likes it all ... not told her where we are going, just to book the time off. For various reasons we can not do a longer trip so this will have to do.
