Paraffin, £6 for 4 litres HERE http://www.winbuyer.co.uk/cat-113/ke...FZqY2Aodj0tvGw It seems to be on sale at a lot of garages ATM, I'm sure I saw similar for £5.60 in one. Also recommended by SV owners manual for cleaning o-ring chains. Maybe you can put paraffin in the cleaning mechanism. Or use a toothbrush, free from your bathroom. Are you only using the Triumph for sunny sundays, or all the time. If it's going to see regular/long distance use put the Scottoiler on it! |
Re: Chain cleaner?
hmmm
must be a nice easy device that will clean everything up without it flinging everywhere. |

Then again I just use a rag |
Re: Chain cleaner?
It's amazing how well a chain comes up with just a pot of paraffin, a Tesco value tooth brush, a rag and some WD40 to polish it up after. http://forums.sv650.org/showpost.php...postcount=1103

Re: Chain cleaner?
Save your money, 1 x Parafin from B & Q ( Called Parascene ) from the garden section, pack of budget toothbrushes from tesco and your done.
It only goes everywhere if you pour it on the chain. If you use the parafin sparingly it'll be fine and I prefer the toothbrush approach to running it through a proper cleaner as you can check the chain for tightspots etc whilst your scrubbing it with the brush. IMHO |
Re: Chain cleaner?
parafin £3.99 4ltrs at my local garden center (hollybush j11 M6) does the job quickly and cheaply :)

Re: Chain cleaner?
just to pop it into perspective after having a chain snap on my (in 5 places) im a bit over zelous about chain cleaning. You see all those pics of before and after chain cleaning? well mine looks like everyonesclean chain before i start cleaning it. bit bad i know but im so scared about it happening again. So something to make it easier is good :)
