Crankcase Reassembly
When I split the crankcases I noticed there was no pre-formed gasket between them only some remains of a paste of sorts. Now I'm looking to stick it all back together I consult the great book of lies to find that it was most probably remains of Suzuki Bond 1207B.
As I'm sure we all have gallons of the stuff sat around doing nothing in our garages would ordinary instant gasket such as this be a suitable replacement and if not what is recommended? Now I know the obvious answer to this is get some Suzuki Bond 1207B from one of the many people that have said gallons doing nothing, but if I want to make a start this weekend and expect to have to order it in, you can see my quandary... |

Re: Crankcase Reassembly
Don't go mad with the stuff, remember it is squishing down to practically no thickness and you don't want loads to block your oil strainer and blow the engine.
Also clean and degrease everything. |

Re: Crankcase Reassembly
Go to toyota dealer and get tube of Toyota seal 102. It is black stuff like stock and very easy to use. Just apply with finger tapping on case, very thin textured coat.
